Why Panama City Beach? Why the "West End"?

The whole Emerald Coast is great so just get here. We have lived in and vacationed from Destin to PCB. The touristy things (shopping, go karts, condos, food) are available anywhere. Pick what works for you...but after discovering Sunnyside, we won't go anywhere else. If you are trying to decide between a location on the coast, consider the ease of getting there, time spent getting around, and the "pace" you are looking for.

If you look at a map, the "West End" of PCB is roughly the portion of the coast between PCB and Inlet Beach. If you are in PCB and drive west, after you pass the last Condo high-rise building...you are now in the west end. Enjoy the quieter coast.

Reasons we chose this portion of the Emerald Coast:

--beach access is better, less crowded. No fighting for space

-- beaches are natural, no high-rises in Sunnyside or Laguna beach

--Summer traffic on 30a and Hwy 98 around Destin is insane

--Shell Island. Imagine untouched pristine beach. (take a pontoon day trip...see the picture and video link below)

-- Easier travel to start your vacation:

- 20 Minutes from ECP Airport to the Beach.

(getting in/out from ECP is by far the easiest access on the coast)

- In Summer, plan for a few hours to get from VPS to 30a

- Driving from the west? you can avoid Hwy 98 gridlock

(super crowded on Saturdays due to the rental turnovers)

--The Harbor Marina: Fishing trips and fish packing is simple with easy parking and access.

--State and natural parks close by

--Pier Park. Has everything for shopping from Walmart to High end. Ferris wheel, touristy things.

--Shipwreck Island water park
